Hearing him say "manometer" is surprisingly thrilling.
Also, Sarah saying "Manometer!" immediately prompts a "Doo doo, doo-doo-doo!" from me, leading to another "Manometer!", leading to a second "Doo doo, doo-doo-doo!" from me.... and then, chortling for a few seconds at our common massive Muppetlove.
I really, really enjoy my home's level of geekery and humor. Ahhh, my Tremonsters. |

| State of the House |
[Feb. 2nd, 2009|03:10 pm] |
Thankfully, Mark has finally finished his laundry, and I can start mine. Hopefully, the stairs aren't too bad, and if they do need shoveled to make them passable, at least the warm spell will help. I have to say, there are days when I absolutely detest this house, with its leaky windows, uneven floors, ancient creaking and/or crumbling stairways, and weird hard-to-operate doors...
... and then I remember that shortly, a good friend is moving in down the block, it's surrounded by art and beauty and good food, it's very dog-friendly, and I doubt this particular environment of friendliness and generosity and neighborliness exists anywhere else in Cleveland.
I love my home.
I'm off to try making the Sweet Soda Bread with just dried strawberries this time after the trip through the Backyard of Meltiness. The bread should be decadently tasty. |

Upon watching a blip of commercial during Good Eats -
Narrator (Probably Jim Cummings): "It's the thing that can bring a seasoned chef to tears..."
bec76: Is that chef crying olive oil?
grf: Probably. If he's really a well-seasoned chef.
bec76: Only if he's got good taste.
Goodbye, G. I'll miss you till you come home. Take Cranbrook by storm. |
